What Makes MIT Admissions So Special?
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (better known as MIT) is a private university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. MIT was founded in 1861 in response to the increasing industrialization of the United States; from the beginning, MIT stressed laboratory instruction in applied science and engineering. Over the years researchers have pioneered breakthroughs on computers, radar, and inertial guidance. Traditionally known for its research and education in the physical sciences and engineering, MIT has recently made a reputation for itself in biology, economics, linguistics, and management as well.
MIT is the only Ivy League school located in Massachusetts, making this state one of the most prestigious for academics.
